The staff has a total of 100 years experience in rehabilitation. They have each developed special areas of interest that complement their rehabilitation skills and enhance patient care.

Paul Garvey

Registered Physiotherapist
Paul graduated from Newcastle-On-Tyne School of Physiotherapy (U.K.) in 1984. He worked in local hospitals over the next 3 years. At the same time he helped out at a local semi-professional soccer club. In 1987 he relocated to Manchester (U.K.) and worked in both the hospital environment and private practice before immigrating to Canada in 1989.

In 1992 and in conjunction with his friend, colleague and business partner, Steve Hill, Kings Cross Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic was opened. The clinic has grown steadily since its inception and is now located in a 9000 square foot facility and boasts 7 clinical staff and 1 ergonomist. Paul continues to spend ninety-percent of his working time with patients. He has continued to expand his knowledge and has attended many post-graduate courses in Canada, U.S.A. and Britain since graduating, developing a particular interest in treating muscle imbalance syndromes.

In his spare time he is a soccer coach, coaching U14 and U17 girls teams.

Judy Preston
Registered Physiotherapist
Judy, a registered physiotherapist, has been working at Kings Cross Sports Injury Clinic since 2001. Judy graduated from Mohawk McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario.

She has specialized in injury prevention, orthopeadics and sports injury rehabilitation for over 25 years working with national and provincial level athletes in field hockey, ice hockey and gymnastics. Judy’s special areas of interest are in muscle balance and biomechanical joint dysfunctions. Judy is also certified in canine rehabilitation and a member of Canadian Horse and Animal Association.
 
Judy enjoys competitive sailing, radio control sailing, photography and gardening.

Sandy Watson
Registered Physiotherapist
Sandy graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1990 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. She worked at University Hospital for 4 years in patient settings, spending the majority of time in acute care rehabilitation for neurological patients.
 
Sandy started working at Kings Cross in May 1994 and has years of experience in all facets of orthopaedics. She has continued to enhance her knowledge through post graduate education including courses on joint mobility, acupuncture, muscle imbalance, soft tissue techniques and exercise therapy. She currently works part-time.
 
Sandy enjoys spending time with her family, biking, hiking, skiing and spending time at the cottage.

Marie–Andrée Lalonde
Registered Physiotherapist 
Marie graduated from the University of Ottawa in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy. Upon graduation Marie worked in the Ottawa-Hull area for 11/2 years before relocating to Brampton.

Marie worked at various clinics in the Brampton and Mississauga area before joining the staff at Kings Cross Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic in August 2005.

By continuing to take post-graduate courses Marie is constantly furthering her knowledge and skills.

Marie enjoys participating in many sports but has a special interest in soccer and both beach and court volleyball.

Marie is fluent in both French and English.

Patty Fraser
Registered Physiotherapist
Patty graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy.

She has specialized in orthopaedics and sports injury rehabilitation for 16 years and has spent 11 of those years at Kings Cross Physiotherapy since joining the clinic in 1995.

Patty has special interests in manual therapy, muscles imbalances, and post-partum rehabilitation. She has completed numerous post-graduate courses to further her training and is also a candidate for certification in acupuncture. She has also completed numerous courses in equine physiotherapy.

Patty enjoys spending time with her family and has special interests in riding, golf, hiking, yoga and photography.

She is fluent in Spanish and English and also speaks French.


Krystal Mayer
Massage Therapist
Krystal holds a degree in psychology from the University of Western Ontario and a honors diploma from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy. Throughout her studies Krystal has also taught anatomy, Pilates and coached runners in various health and fitness facilities for the last six years.

Krystal joined the Kings Cross team in 2006 as a registered massage therapist and continues to expand her knowledge in areas of the myofascial system, sports, aquatics, infant and pregnancy massage.

Krystal enjoys participating in marathons but has a particular interest in racing Ironman distance triathlons.


Heather Johnston (R.M.T.)
Massage Therapist
Heather graduated from Sutherland-Chan School and Teaching Clinic for Massage Therapy in 2005 and also holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Waterloo in recreation therapy and psychology. Heather has also studied Cranio-Sacral techniques and level I Reiki and has extensive experience treating patients with athletic injuries, motor vehicle accidents, post-cancer treatment, as well as the general public. She joined the team at Kings Cross as a part-time registered massage therapist.

Heather enjoys downhill and cross country skiing, dragon boat racing, long distance running and triathlon as part of her active lifestyle.

The staff are encouraged and supported to continue their post-graduate education to improve their ability to treat our patients effectively and efficiently.
